It was not a nice day as everyone expected, it started raining as soon as both team were ready to
play. NHECC won the toss and elected to field, but rain was hampering the game and it got
reduce to 25 over’s. NHECC started bowling and right in the first over Eagles got a break through
by getting one of cavalier’s openers run out. Sharat and Shafi started with good pace, but Shafi
bowled few more extra wides while Sharat was bowling with consistent good line and length. He
bowled beautifully and got another break through for Eagles when he took a beautiful catch on
his own bowling.
Eagles had the momentum going but few bad overs in the middle made them score little faster.
Skipper realizing the situation and brought this young fine spinner Haider, who not only bowled
good leg spin, but crushed the middle order of Cavaliers. He made the big guys dance around
the ball. Cavaliers also had few good overs at the end too and made a total of 142 runs. Skipper
Khalid and Ali another young blood opened the innings for Eagles, Khalid from the start hitting
every loose ball that was coming to him with no hesitation. Ali was keep taking the singles
and giving strike to Khalid. Score was climbing but Ali played a bad shot and got out. Then went
Bobby and tried to help Khalid but he got out early on a same shot as Ali. Skipper and Sial tried
to move the score in the right direction when skipper got LBW. Shafi goes in and did not play
responsibly and got out on Mid wicket, Mahmood got out on LBW right away. Eagles needed 60
runs at that time, Hassan and Asif tried to take singles but Hassan missed a delivery and got
LBW also. Then went Dhanpat, who got hurt during the game required the runner, Hassan helped
him and chase started again.
Eagles seemed like not ready to give up and Dhanpat was kept the momentum taking singles.
The game was going just like we watch International cricket, 36 balls 36 runs. When eagles was
down to 23 balls 19 runs, a confusion happened between the runner(Hassan) and Asif, who got
run out trying to take a cheeky single. Pete went in right away scored a boundary and then took a
3 runs on the next ball. The game went down to 9 runs and 12 balls. Dhanpat who was playing an
excellent innings got bowled and Sharat went in. Peter hit another boundary and now it was down
to 5 runs and 6 balls. Peter got caught out and game was 5 balls and 5 runs. Haider took a single
and gave strike to Sharat now eagles needed 4 runs and 4 balls. Unfortunately Sharat got bowled
by genus when 2 ball left, and eagles lost by 4 runs.
Win or loose is a part of the game, what we will all remember about this game is Eagles played
as a team with some young and motivated player who got gel with seniors like they have know
them for a while. Eagles played a awesome game with fire, enthusiasm, friendship bond and
above all as a team.Please keep the momentums going and I have no doubts that we will
succeed and will cherish every moment we will be in the field.
