Eagles VS Bridgeport
It was a hot Muggy day; Eagles look energetic and was ready to face the toughest team of the League. Khalid won
the toss and Eagles decided to bat. Khalid and Ali open the innings, Ali never looked comfortable and one ball
bounced and got the edge went to slip where the fielder made no hesitation in taking a catch. Khalid was looking
promising but he got cramps, he got caught on square leg trying to push the ball over a square leg fielder. Terry
went in since he has never played with white ball was in no command and got bowled. Mahmood went in thinking
that we need to hold the batting line up with Dhanpat who went in after Khalid. Dhanpat got out on the first ball
playing the same shot as Ali. Eagles now were in big trouble with 4 wickets down and the score was only 30. Shafi
went in and start playing defensively, but since he was connecting well he got aggressive while Mahmood was
playing defensively. Shafi and Mahmood played some good cricket where Shafi was whacking the Bridgeport
bowlers all around the park.
Shafi and Mahmood had a quick partnership of 50 runs. Bridgeport changed their strategy and brought spinner in,
who on the first ball got Mahmood out. Shafi who was trying to play on the mid on also got caught by Raza. The
score was 87 for 6. The tail under chipped in but nobody was clicking and at the end Eagles was all out for 123.
Bridgeport started their innings aggressively, hitting quick 4’s to Asif and Mahmood, but while doing that
Mahmood using his furious pace got Jonathan bowled. Asif was changed by Skipper and Shafi was brought in
who right away got a break through and got the one down batsman bowled. Bridgeport which is a good side has a
list of batsman who can score and at no moment they stopped hitting any loose ball. Eagles fought the battle
graciously but it was a small total to defend. Bridgeport won by 4 wickets.
We need to remember this that we still got 8 more games and we can finish in style. just don’t loose hope and
believe in your self and in your team.
