Eagles won the most Intense game of 20/20 against West
Haven.
It was a beautiful day and it seemed like it will last all day but just before
the game between Eagles and West Haven, it started raining. The overs
were reduced to 13 and it brought more electricity to the game. West
Haven won the toss and elected to bat. It was Faisal and Parsad who stated
the innings; right from the get co they were hitting Eagle’s bowlers. Shafi
bowled couple good over’s but still was hit for few fours. Khalid brought
a bowling change and let Asif bowled who right away got a break through
by taking Faisal out. It was pitched right in the middle and Faisal tried to
swing deep and missed the delivery and was clean bowled. Parsad was not
in a mood to deteriorate from the situation. Him and Gauthum kept the same
momentum and Parsad batted exceptionally well by scoring 50. He was
bowled by Shafi in the final over. West Haven Scored 118 with only 4
wickets down.
Now it was Eagles turn to bat. It was a big target but Eagles was as
determent to win this game. Mahmood and Khalid went and open the innings
with the fire work. They were both showing no mercy to any West Haven
bowlers. They scored 41 runs just in 3 over’s. Mahmood got bowled by Raj
when the score was 50. Shafi was quickly bowled by Jignesh when the
score was 55. But the Skipper kept his calm and took charge of the game.
He was hungry for this win and took singles with Afzal in front of the
fielders. He was hitting the bowlers all around the park and was getting a
full support from Afzal.
Just when the score was 75 Eagles lost a wicket of Afzal who took a
magnificent catch on long on. Then went Brian Murphy, who should his
class as a great batsman, with no pressure he started taking quick singles
with Khalid. He also hit a huge six to Madhu on deep square leg and brought
the game in Eagles court. It was a classic display of two professional who
were focused and determent to win .Khalid needed a run to score50 and
Eagles need a run to win. In the last over and on the first ball, Khalid took
a single to get his 50 and brought the win to Eagles.
The best part of the game was when skipper address the team and said “if
they can hit us we can hit them too and we will hit them harder” this is
exactly what Eagles did. It was a great game for both teams. I would like to
congratulate the Eagles for making it into Semi finals. All we have to do is
to Focus, show unity and Confidence. This year’s 20/20 championships will
be ours (inshallah)
